Welcome to
Bridgeview Special School

Specialising in teaching children with
social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Bridgeview Special School is an outstanding school for primary-aged children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties. We take immense pride in our purpose-built environment, co-located with Whitehouse Pupil Referral Unit, where staff work collaboratively with families and specialists to meet the unique needs of each child.

As part of Venn Academy Trust, our expert team shares their inclusive teaching practices and behaviour management expertise across the Trust and beyond.

Bridgeview Special School is a dynamic and nurturing environment where children are at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to knowing each child and supporting them to achieve the targets within their Education, Health, and Care Plans. Our approach integrates personal development and academic learning, promoting individuality while encouraging the pursuit of excellence.

Classrooms at Bridgeview are designed to be flexible and responsive to the needs of each child. Pupils are encouraged to utilise all areas of the room, choosing to work on the floor, in a beanbag, under tables, or even with their feet in a foot spa. This approach widens pupils’ preferences, fosters engagement, and creates opportunities for success.

We ensure our children are well-prepared for the next stages of education and adulthood by promoting independent learning and inspiring ambition. Our staff are committed to supporting them every step of the way.

If you have any questions or would like to arrange a visit, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

I matter…

The things I do and the words I say are meaningful.

I am important…

People care about me and listen to me when I use my voice.

I belong…

Bridgeview is my school and I am an important part of it.

Our Motto

We passionately believe in our motto, ‘I matter, I am important, I belong’. Many of our children and families have had an unsettled time in education before arriving at Bridgeview.

For this reason, staff are committed to ensuring the children understand they have a place in our school, the local community and wider world.
